Interior Bottom (Shoe) Rails & Fillet

These items are for interior use ONLY. They must NOT be used outside, as the channel in the Shoes will trap moisture and cause premature wood failure. For exterior projects, please use our Sloped-top Bottom Rail.


Match channel width to size of Square Baluster you wish to use. For a more finished look, install Fillet between Balusters in the channel of the Shoe Rail. May be returned within 30 days of receipt for a 15% restocking fee. Shoe Rails may have finger-jointed laminations. Drawings not to scale.

The Reversible Shoe (SM-6006) is designed to be used with either 1-3/4" or 1-5/8" Balusters. Simply install with proper Baluster width faced up and use corresponding Fillet to fill gaps between Balusters for a more professional and traditional look.
