Contents (Yellow Edit Button)

approved 5.21.13/rg

About:
The yellow Contents button located in the EDIT Mode menu bar holds all pages on our website. Floating pages, tools, and other pages created and used by programmers are located here.

1. Floating Pages
Since floating pages may not be linked to at a given page, access can be accomplished by being in EDIT Mode, clicking the "Contents" button, opening the misc-floating-pages "folder", and then locating the URL (".html" suffix will not show). Click on page and edit as usual.

2. New Page Creation
The 'New' button at Contents can be used to create new pages with whatever ID (URL) we specify. Typically, we use normal English words, separated by a dash, and with no spaces. Example: new-page

Normally, before leaving a newly created page, you should use the Cut command and paste the new page into the page it will permanently live at. Otherwise, you will not be able to use regular Store navigation to return to the new page.

All pages that VWW has created are grouped into several "folders" such as Help or iframes. These folders should be kept closed except when searching in them. The remaining pages at Contents were created by FastPivot or are "system" pages. We have been hesitant to move these into Folders, as we don't know if that would affect their operation within the system.

3. Access to New Pages
The Contents command can also be used to access a new page that cannot yet be accessed via regular Store navigation.

4. Quarterly Review
Rg reviews Contents quarterly and moves any pages we've created (but forgot to put into a folder) into the appropriate folder.
