Subrails
They are designed to fit over the bottom of our #6010 Traditional Rail (see drawing to left), providing more depth to the Handrail. The bottom channel in Subrail provides an easy way to install Square Top Balusters. This Subrail bottom channel must fit the Baluster's width. Fillet (included) is used to fill the gap between Balusters.

Bottom (Shoe) Rails
These items are for interior stair and balcony use ONLY. They must NOT be used outside, as the channel in the Shoes will trap moisture and cause premature wood failure. For exterior projects, please use our Sloped-top Bottom Rail. Shoe Rails may have finger-jointed laminations.

Match channel width to size of Square Baluster you wish to use. For a more finished look, install Fillet between Balusters in the channel of the Shoe Rail.

NOTE: Actual length may be 1/4" shorter than listed.
