This not only offers a more traditional appearance, but also brings the Spandrels and Brackets into better view, as opposed to them being hidden in the shadow of the eave. This beam will accommodate the addition of Repeating Cornice Brackets and Post Face Brackets if a more three dimensional effect is later wanted.
